| Upstate Respite Services, Inc. (URS) was
established in 2004 to provide hourly planned respite and skill
building services to the targeted population consisting of
seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) children and adolescents
in a community setting. Since that time these services have been
meted out to dozens of children in nine counties in the Capital
District region of New York State in a cost effective manner by
highly trained respite providers and skill builders.
The staff of URS is cleared through the Office of Children
and Family Services, a criminal background check is conducted by
the Division of Criminal Justice System (DCJS) and all employees
are required to complete a New York State Office of Mental
Health training prior to providing services. The training
